Gaviota State Park.

A smaller State Park, located North of Santa Barbara, Gaviota State Park delivered some of the best field recording I captured. Absolutely teaming with wildlife and singing birds the recordings from this location were used to create one of my favorite compositions, Nojoqui. Nojoqui, is a Chumash word meaning “meadow” or “honeymoon spot,” the Nearby Nojoqui Falls being an aptly named location. Gaviota’s proximity to the Pacific ocean and mountain ranges create a unique environment where wildlife feels free to express its auditory magic.
